today was fabulous. the majority of the reason was that we enjoyed our church family, the blessings of Sabbath and a great walk to the Makapuku lighthouse. fabulous sunshine and a breeze so lovely it'll make your toes tingle. i love the great outdoors ;)
but as we were driving home after this fabulous day, my boy shared some of the most wonderful humor with me. i had to share. that is why i am here while they start their "saturday night movie"...
moment one:
as we were discussing the greatness of God's knowledge and understanding of fallen humanity we reminded each other of His love for us. His knowledge as creator of this earth and all that it holds. His promise to Abraham for blessing him with seed as countless as the sands. and of course, my personal favorite, the fact that he knows the number of hairs upon our head.
"wow!" michael says, "i don't even know how many hairs are on my own head! but if i were to guess daddy's, i'd say 100." children know all, see all and perceive so much more...
moment two:
we just realized (to my chagrin) that we do indeed get a few channels on our tv. 4 to be exact and even that is a bit fuzzy. i was adamant about not getting cable (it just sucks us in as far as i'm concerned, not worth our time) so you can imagine the glee and gloating that came from the boys when they found out what we had.
one of these channels happens to be PBS. which always seems to have those lovely *gag* displays of s l o w entertainment such as an orchestra, or opera even. tonight however, there was a young lady playing the flute when we turned on the tv. she was perhaps 3-4 years older than Michael. i admired her musical flair and then proceeded to jokingly tell Michael that this was the type of girl he could marry. hahaha... to which he replied...
"no mommy. you can only get married on eHarmony. they match you up."
insightful Michael, if i had only known. he's my genius.
