all American pride

i was greeted this morning by some all american pride. i find this funny simply because i was just reading another bloggers tribute to the "joys" of running. mr. pink shoes, engaged to ms. honestgrl, you are hilarious.

shorter than short, tighter than tight, i was graced with a peculiar view of the American flag today. waving in all of its grandeur across a womans saggy, little bum. i should be glad it was little, but it did nothing to boost my thoughts. should we be proud at these moments or (like me) mortified? i know touching the flag to the ground is a disgrace, but honestly, we might include plastering it across one's butt as well. match this with the preppy cardigan tied so smartly over her shoulders and the white cap on fire with flashing blue lights, she was one happy soul. too bad all her onlookers were not so lucky.

i will give her some credit though, at 630 am on Oahu it was almost pitch black. in the glare of the headlights however things that wish to be hidden all of a sudden become revealed. poor gal.
